Civil Society Presentation Event

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), in collaboration with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (NTRC), is hosting a Civil Society Presentation event on Tuesday 9th May.

This event is the first of its kind in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and is aimed at increasing the knowledge of how the Internet is governed locally and globally, and its impact and inter-relationships across all sectors of the economy, to its users and providers.

Presentations will be made by senior officials from the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU), Internet Society (ISOC), ICANN, and the NTRC. The main sessions will focus on the summary and readout from ICANN 58, which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark in March.

Three public meetings are usually held for ICANN each year, with the aim of setting policy on the public governance of the global Internet. As such, Caribbean participation is vital in the multi-stakeholder governance process, and we are hereby extending an invitation to the public to attend the event which will be held at the Frenches House conference room from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
